French Open Champion To Play Colonie Country Club
Comments 0COLONIE - 1993 French Open doubles champion Luke Jensen will compete in next weekend's $3,000 Men's Open Tournament at Colonie Golf & Tennis Club. Since retiring from the professional tour Jensen has been one of the sport's top television analysts, working for ESPN since 1994.
Jensen is also currently the head women's tennis coach at Syracuse University, a position he has held for the past three seasons.
Following an All-American career at the University of Southern California (1987 and 1988), the Grayling, Michigan native won ten career ATP Tour doubles titles alongside his brother Murphy, including their 1993 triumph at Roland Garros.
Among Luke Jensen's victims in singles: Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Boris Becker, Stephan Edberg, and Jim Courier.
And now Jensen will be competing in Colonie. The Tournament runs Friday, July 16-18.
