Loudonville's Frank Dyer teams with Olympic legend Michael Phelps

Updated: Wednesday, August 20 2014, 12:44 AM EDT

Loudonville, NY - Michael Phelps is the most decorated athlete in Olympic history, having won 18 gold medals.  He now shares a pool with Loudonville's Frank Dyer (Shaker).

Dyer has spent the past four months since graduating from Notre Dame training with the North Baltimore Aquatic Club under coach Bob Bowman.

"It's just really encouraging to see (Phelps) in practice every day," Dyer said Monday following a training session at Siena College while home on break.  "He's obviously one of the greats, and I'm his teammate now -- so, that's pretty cool."

A three-time college All American, Dyer has improved his times since joining NBAC.  He has his sights set on the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials, with hopes of qualifying for the Rio Games.
