Loudonville, NY - Adam Myers was a standout soccer goalie, first at Ballston Spa High School, then at Siena College. But he never made a save on the pitch to rival his save on Friday night.
Myers was driving along Barney Road in Clifton Park when he saw another automobile go down a ravine and into a pond before bursting into flames.
"When I saw that car go up it was just an instant reaction," said Myers Monday. "Just get myself to that car as quick as I can because somebody's inside, and somebody definitely needs help."
Along with another good samaritan, Myers helped pull the victim to safety. The unidentified man remains in stable but serious condition Monday afternoon at Westchester Medical Center's Burn Unit.
"It all hit afterwards in hindsight that I put myself in danger," added Myers. "But I'd do the same thing again, I feel".
Myers earned his undergraduate degree from Siena this past spring. He will begin work on a masters degree in accounting this fall.
