Schenectady man sentenced to life in prison for murder
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A 27-year-old Schenectady man faces up to life in prison for killing another man as he sat in his car last year.
Omari Lee was convicted in May of second-degree murder and four counts of weapons charges for the death of Xavier McDaniel Jr.
McDaniel, a 21-year-old former high school basketball star, was shot twice in April 2007. Authorities say Lee falsely believed McDaniel had stolen money and drugs from him.
Lee was sentenced Wednesday in Schenectady County Court to 25 years to life in prison. He also received 15-year sentences on each of the weapons charges. Three of those will be served at the same time as the murder charge.
