Schenectady woman arrested for shooting 16-year-old

Scehenctady Police have arrested a Robinson Street woman for shooting a 16-year-old at 10:30 Monday morning.

Princess D. Alava, 23, is being held before an arraignment for first degree assault and second degree criminal weapon possession.

Police say Alava and the 16-year-old were engaged in a verbal argument when Alava pulled out a gun and shot the girl in the wrist.

The victim was brought to Ellis Hospital for the non-life-threatening injury and admitted for additional treatment.
