Autopsy results: Colonie man drowned in Mohawk last week

"Minh Ngu was fully clothed, wearing shoes and the wind and water was turbulent," said Albany County Coroner Timothy Cavanaugh. "The official cause of death is asphyxiation."
40-year-old Minh Ngu, a Colonie resident, was fishing with his son and brother last Sunday on the Mohawk River when turbulent waters and high winds caused their canoe to capsize.
The brother and son made it to shore but Minh Ngu's body was discovered in the area of 176 Cohoes Crescent Rd. at 12:15 p.m. Saturday.

Colonie Police say the man missing in the Mohawk River is 40-year-old Minh Ngu. Police are still searching for Ngu's body.
Ngu's canoe capsized on the Mohawk River Sunday night; a 42-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy who were also in the boat were able to escape safely.
State Police divers were called along with a helicopter, and rescuers from local fire deaprtments, but the search was called off when it got dark
