Two cars were totaled when they collided nearly head-on in Pittsford, Vt. after one of the drivers sneezed, said State Police.
A 42-year-old man from Essex was driving a Chevy Impala south on Route 7 just north of the Florence Truck Route in Pittsford behind two other vehicles Monday morning, said State Police in Vermont.
At the same time, a 50-year-old woman from Poultney was driving a Subaru Outback in the opposite direction at around 50 miles per hour. The woman told police she sneezed, causing her to jerk into the opposite lane.
The two vehicles in front of the Chevy pulled off to the right side of the road, leaving the Essex man open to the oncoming Subaru. He braked his vehicle, causing the Subaru to skid.
The two vehicles collided almost head on, said State Police. Both were totaled.
Both drivers were taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
