‘Man cave' state workers plead guilty
ALBANY -- The two former state workers accused of dealing drugs and sleeping on the job entered guilty pleas Thursday morning, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
They admitted to doing so in a storage room in Albany’s East Parking Garage.
Gary Pivoda, 48 of Latham, pleaded guilty to felonies of Defrauding the Government and Third Degree Grand Larceny. As part of a plea deal, he’ll spend a year in Albany County Jail and have to pony up more than $2,000 in restitution for the hours he didn’t work.
Louis Marciano, 50 of Rensselaer, pleaded guilty to felony Defrauding the Government. He’ll serve five years of probation, in accordance with his plea deal, serve 250 hours of community service, and have more than $1,500 for hours not worked.
Both are barred for life from serving as state employees.
They’ll be sentenced in early January.
