GENEVA, N.Y.

A Finger Lakes winery is now venturing into beer territory. The Three Brothers Winery in Geneva has set up an offshoot -- the Barley Yard Brewing Company -- and they're making beer from grapes.

Winemaker Dale Nagy says their product is the first Riesling ale in the U.S. He says it's kind of like a light Pilsner.

Custom Brewcrafters in Honeoye Falls makes the ale for the winery, blending an American-style wheat beer with New York-grown Riesling juice. The two are then fermented together.
