Watervliet teen arrested on drugs and weapons charges
WATERVLIET -- Police arrested a Watervliet teenager Monday after a search of his home turned up an illegal shotgun, drugs and a digital scale, the Albany County Sheriff's Department announced Tuesday.
Investigators obtained the search warrant after an informant purchased crack cocaine from 17-year-old Jeremy Malik at his 1818 4th Ave. home.
Inside the home, police discovered an illegal sawed-off shotgun loaded with five rounds, a small quantity of marijuana, ziplock bags and a digital scale.
Malik was arrested on charged of felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and two counts of misdemeanor criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
Malik was arraigned in Watervliet City Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail.
