Unusual Places to find H1N1 Flu Vaccine
The New York State Health Department confirms that as of this week more than 1.1 million doses of the H1N1 Flu Vaccine have been ordered and confirms that orders are constantly arriving. The Center for Disease Control doles out the vaccines to each state based on per capita. New York State will receive six percent of the national supply.
Dr. David Skory of Hometown Health Center in Schenectady says while most people look to their doctors and local health departments first for the vaccine, there are other places to look. "Does my employer offer it, local pharmacy, local hospital offer it. The state has liberated who can actually give the shot because they want more people to have more access" says Skory.
This Friday any pregnant women who lives in Schenectady County looking to get the H1N1 vaccine will be able to.
