Albany Law offers $10K in tuition aid per year for post-9/11 vets

Albany Law School has joined the federal Yellow Ribbon Program, helping to offset $10,000 in tuition for up to 10 qualifying post-9/11 veterans in the 2009-2010 school year.

Part of the Post-9/11 GI Bill, the program covers tuition up to the highest public in-state undergraduagte tuition.

Albany Law, a private school, will directly contribute $5,000 per student toward the tuition difference, and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs will then provide an additional $5,000 in matching funds for each student.

The Yellow Ribbon Program begins Aug. 1, 2009, and is available for veterans who have served for at leaast three years since Sept. 11, 2001, or who served for at least 30 days and were disabled during duty.
