Schenectady Parks truck falls through the ice

A Schenectady City Parks Department pickup truck broke through the ice this morning and sank into Central Park's Iroquois Pond.

The truck was clearing the snow off the pond so people could go ice skating - that's when the ice cracked and the truck went in. 

It was about a year ago that the same thing happened, but officials say they really don't have a lot of options.

The City tried smaller equipment but it just wasn't getting the job done. 

They say the ice may look solid but thanks to air pockets they can never be sure.
