TROY -- The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office arrested two people in an investigation into abuse of Troy Housing Authority property.

Forty-one-year-old Farrah Bright of Schenectady was arrested and charged with felony second-degree criminal mischief for allegedly causing more than $2,000 worth of damage to her previous Griswold Heights address.

Thirty-two-year-old Myriam Elie of Philadelphia, Penn., was arrested in Troy and charged with third-degree grand larceny for failing to report $25,000 in income, resulting in depriving the Housing Authority of $4,000 in rent.

Both were arraigned in Troy City Court. Bright was released on her own recognizance, and Elie was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail on $10,000 bail.
