Ballston Spa man dies after trailer collapses on his chest
BALLSTON SPA -- A man has died after a trailer accident Thursday morning in which several jacks collapsed, causing the utility trailer to fall on to the man's chest.
According to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, 71-year-old David Lipscomb, Sr., was doing work on the trailer at 800 Goode St. when the trailer collapsed on him.
Lipscomb's son and other bystanders assisted in freeing him from the trailer, and Lipscomb was transported to Saratoga Hospital.
He was later pronounced dead at the hospital after resuscitation efforts failed.
Ballston Lake Ambulance and the Burnt Hills Fire Department assisted at the scene.
