Deadline to register to vote is tomorrow

There are just 25 days until the historic presidential election of 2008 -- but will you be able to vote on November 4th?

Don't forget: Friday, Oct. 10th is the deadline to register to vote in New York state. Completed mail-in voter registration forms must be postmarked by midnight October 10th and received no later than October 15th for the upcoming General Election.

Residents who have moved to a new county must re-register from their new address.

Those who have moved to a new address in the same county do not have to re-register, but should provide their board of elections with their new address and to locate their new polling site.

On the ballot this year: Vice President and President of the United States, and all Congressional, State Senate and State Assembly seats.

A statewide ballot proposal will also appear on the ballot, as well as candidates for State Supreme Court Justice in most judicial districts.

To see the status of your voter registration, learn the location of your poll site or download a registration form, visit the State Board of Elections' web site here: http://www.elections.state.ny.us/

Those who want to register in person can visit the county board of elections, as well as most post offices, libraries and state agency offices.
