UPDATE: GlobalFoundries hosts job fair today, hundreds invited to attend

COLONIE -- The Department of Labor has 300 targeted jobseekers who will take part in a job fair for GlobalFoundries jobs Tuesday afternoon.
"This event is for a targeted group of highly specialized tech positions," according to department spokeswoman Michelle Duffy. "This is the first of its kind info session where job seekers can hand in their resumes, speak to representatives, learn about the company, and even apply right there on the spot."

The company is looking to reach its capacity of 11 hundred workers at Fab 8 alone by 2012. That's when it will be fully operational.
Today's event is at the Holiday Inn on Wolf Road in Colonie from 1 to 4 p.m..
