WEB EXTRA: Back-to-School shopping tips
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Want more tips on how to make smart purchases during back to school shopping? Read on:
- Invest more money in pieces that you will wear more, like jeans and sweaters. If they are higher quality they will last longer.
- When shopping for up-to-the-minute trends, purchase them at lower prices -- they'll only be used for one or two seasons, after all.
- Buy coordinating pieces. Since the layered look is in, you will be able to get more outfits out of a few pieces if they all match.
- Choose simple accessories like scarves to help change the look of your outfits at minimal cost.
- Look for pieces that your children can wear to school and use during after school activities. Leggings for girls and hoodies for boys are pieces that can be used for these.
- Find pieces that can be worn casually and formally. Items such as button-up shirts for boys and jackets for girls can be dressed up or dressed down.
- Treat your clothes well! Wash your jeans inside out and on the cold cycle. Purchase a drying rack to line dry delicate shirts to save energy and keep clothes for a long time. Do not wash if it says dry clean only; instead, use an at-home dry cleaning kit between trips to the dry cleaners.
