Rensselaer woman charged with DWI for second time in year
EAST GREENBUSH -- A Rensselaer city woman is in county jail on $10,000 bail after being arrested for the second time this year on a drinking while intoxicated charge.
East Greenbush Police pulled over Betsy Buckly on Columbia Turnpike at 2 a.m. Monday when he observed her car speeding and weaving from lane to lane.
Buckly was unable to walk a straight line or pass other standard sobriety tests, said police.
Buckly had been issued a conditional driver's license after she was convicted of aggravated DWI last December in the town of Bethlehem.
The license required she drive only a vehicle with an ignition interlock device -- a device that allows the vehicle to start only after the driver blows and passes a breath test. The vehicle Buckly was driving when she was pulled over Monday morning did not have an ignition interlock device, police said.
Buckly was expected to appear in East Greenbush Town Court Monday afternoon.
