UPDATE: Thruway back open in Florida, new viewer photos

Despite an earlier alert, the DOT said the right eastbound lane between exits 28 and 27 is still blocked.

All lanes are now open, according to the NYS DOT.

FLORIDA -- A tractor trailer accident closed a portion of the Thruway at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to the Department of Transportation.
The State Thruway Authority said the truck caught fire on the eastbound side between exits 27 and 28 in the Town of Florida.
The accident shut down all lanes of traffic for hours. Now only the right lane is closed.
The DOT says to expect some backups if you are traveling in the area.
Police said at least one person was injured in the accident.
