Lake George teens arrested for car break-ins
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Three Lake George teens have been arrested in connection with a series of overnight car break-ins and burglaries this past weekend.
Robert Adsit, Douglas Frost and Bernard Hawley, all 16 years old, were arrested just after 4 a.m. Saturday, March 15th, on felony grand larceny charges.
Police located the three teens after a resident on Cooper St. in the village of Lake George was awakened by a noise outside and saw the teens near a truck, later determined to belong to Adsit.
The resident called police as a neighbor went to investigate. The teens fled when the neighbor approached, leaving behind the truck and its keys, which the neighbor took.
When located by police, the teens admitted to stealing numerous items from cars in Lake George Village and Queensbury area, including West Mountain Ski Area, Cleverdale, Sherwood Acres, Stonegate and Leland Estates, from Saturday into Sunday morning.
The three were released to their parents' custodies. The sheriff's office said more charges are pending.
Anyone who had property stolen from their vehicles during the time period in question is asked to contact investigator Christopher Hatin at 518-742-2500.
