Charlton Tavern Close to Reopening
Family has kept promise to rebuild in wake of fire
They promised to rebuild from the ashes.
And it looks like the owners of the old Charlton Tavern are keeping their word.
Back in January, the popular meeting spot and eatery burned to the ground. Investigators said it was an electrical fire.
The Maloney family, which has owned the tavern for years, promised they would rebuild bigger and better than before.
From what they showed Jerry Gretzinger this week, it appears that's exactly what they're doing. Two fireplaces, a massive and impressive kitchen, generous window seating, a larger bar area, and a true attention to detail.
They didn't want us to show too much though. They want folks to be surprised when they walk in for the first time after their grand re-opening.
The Maloney's say they're ahead of schedule and hope to open their doors at the end of October.
