Astronauts rest up ahead of final spacewalk
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Astronauts Robert Behnken and Nicholas Patrick are resting up for their third and final spacewalk of Endeavour's mission.
The pair spent Monday moving an old docking adapter to the International Space Station's new room, Tranquility. There, it will provide an extra parking spot for visiting ships and buffer against micrometeorite hits.
While they were busy doing that, the crews of the shuttle and the station were connecting power and data lines to the domed, seven-window lookout.
Behnken and Patrick venture back out Tuesday night to unlock the shutters on the lookout's windows, which will allow their colleagues to peel back the shutters and gaze at the Earth below.
Endeavour and its crew of six depart the space station Friday after a visit of one and a-half weeks.
