Police arrest Schenectady woman found driving wrong way down I-787

MENANDS -- An 18-year-old Schenectady woman was arrested early Friday morning after State Police located her driving the wrong way down Interstate 787, then found a small amount of marijuana inside her car.

A state trooper was dispatched to a call for a car traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-787 at about 2:30 a.m., according to State Police.

The trooper pulled over the vehicle and found the driver, Tamera Jackson, intoxicated. She was also found in possession of three small bags of marijuana.

Jackson was arrested and charged for operating her vehicle in the wrong direction of travel, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Jackson's breathalyzer test result measured a blood alcohol content level of 0.14 percent, said State Police.

Jackson was issued summons to return to Menands Village Court on April 12, 2010 and released to her mother.
