Tour bus for band "Weezer" involved in crash outside Amsterdam
State Police have released information about a crash involving a tour bus for the rock band "Weezer".
On Sunday at 7:22 a.m., the bus went off the road on the Thruway in the Town of Glen, about 40 miles west of Albany. The bus was headed to eastbound to Boston for a concert on Monday night, December 7th. Police say the bus hit ice on the roadway, then skidded into the median and then skidded back across the east bound lanes, through the guiderail on the right shoulder, and came to rest in a ditch along the right shoulder.
The lead singer of the band, Rivers Cuomo, and a band assistant were both taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam with minor injuries,
The road in the area is now cleared, and traffic is moving normally again.
