WINTER STORM, schools closed, snow emergencies declared

A nasty commute awaited drivers on the roads Wednesday morning. Several minor accidents have been reported and it's a slow ride on the major roads.

Albany International Airport
Open and operating. As of 1:40 p.m. (1/07), six flights had been delayed and 10 flights had been canceled. Check the airport's Web site for the latest and with your carrier for information about connecting flights.

Power Outages:

According to National Grid's web site, more than 800 customers in Warren County are without power (as of 1:40 p.m. 1/07).  Power there is expected to be restored by 11:45 Wednesday night.

Towns and cities in the area have issued snow emergencies.

Town of Greenport

The town of Greenport has declared a snow emergency that began this morning (1/07) and runs through the end of the day. During the snow emergency residents cannot park on any town streets.

Town of Schodack
The town of Schodack's emergency will last through 7 p.m. That means cars may not park on public streets.

Village of Stillwater

 A snow emergency is in effect for the village of Stillwater from midnight (1/6) until midnight (1/7). During that time there is no parking on any village streets.

Town of Waterford

The town of Waterford has declared a snow emergency until further notice.
