Winter Weather in the Capital Region
Comments 0 | Recommend 0ALBANY, N.Y. -- A wintry mix of heavy snow and ice is expected across upstate New York today.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning starting this morning that could dump 4 to 12 inches of snow on the Mohawk and Schoharie valleys and the greater Capital Region. East of Albany, freezing rain is expected.
Heavy snow is also possible in central New York and the Southern Tier as a storm moves up the East Coast. A mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow is anticipated.
The Albany International Airport reports that they are open and operating, but have canceled or delayed four flights. The aiport, as always, advises passengers to check their flights before heading to the airport.
