Schenectady Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges
Comments 0 | Recommend 0An eighteen year-old city man has been arrested and charged in connection with Wednesday morning's shooting on Union Avenue.
Julio A. Lewis, 18, of 949 State Street, Schenectady, has been charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Reckless Endangerment, Second Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and Fourth Degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. He is accused of shooting at a twenty-three year old city man Wednesday morning after confronting the victim over an incident the two were involved in nearly two months ago. The victim was not struck or injured.
Lewis was taken into custody just after the shooting when the vehicle he attempted to flee in was stopped by Schenectady County Sheriff Deputies on Eastern Avenue. A loaded .45 caliber handgun believed to be the weapon used by Lewis was recovered from the vehicle. The gun was reported stolen earlier this year in the Town of Niskayuna.
Lewis is being held in the Schenectady lockup pending a Thursday morning arraignment.
