Mother of Infant Shaken to Death Facing Charges

May 28, 2008 - 11:48 PM

The mother of the four month old infant shaken to death last week has now been charged.  Albany County District Attorney David Soares announced Thursday that Sasha Poole, 21, is facing charges because she did not get her son prompt medical help after being severely injured by the boy's father, Gregory Milgo.

Milgo was charged with murder last week in connection with the boy's death and faces nine different charges.  He is accused of causing the death of his infant son -- born three months premature -- by repeatedly and vigorously shaking the baby, which caused brain hemorrhaging, according to police.

Poole was indicted on charges of criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.

She was remanded to the Albany County jail and faces a maximum of seven years in prison if convicted.
