Campsite Sexual Assault

On Thursday the Warren County Sheriff's Office received a report from the Glens Falls Hospital of a female who was reporting a sexual assault. The assault was alleged to have occurred at the Bear Slides Camping area near the Lake Luzerne and Warrensburg Town line, a remote area on the Hudson River.

On Friday, the Warren County Sheriff's Office located and arrested 27 year old Robert J. Stearns of Main St. in Hudson Falls. Stearns was charged with one count of rape in the first degree and is being held in the lockup of Warren County Correctional Facility. He will be arraigned in Warrensburg Court Saturday morning.
