Cuomo announces settlement with USSearch.com
Comments 0 | Recommend 0New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo says the online information company USSearch.com agreed to stop selling the private credit bureau data of U.S. consumers and paid $250,000 in a settlement.
He says his investigation showed the company, which normally provides public information like court records, also illegally obtained private consumer credit information at least 2,385 times.
US Search spokesman Alan Chapell says the cited incidents all preceded the sale of US Search last October by First Advantage Corp. to Cricket Operating Co. LLC.
The fine was paid by the old company.
