NYC's Ballet Season Opens At SPAC with Use of Videos

Associated Press

With the New York City Ballet's summer residency starting Tuesday in Saratoga Springs, videos will be on display in 16 businesses to help build interest in the classical season.

Dancers perform at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

The 150-second videos feature images from the ballets photographer, Paul Kolnick, with commentary on select ballets. They will be playing in a continuous loop at various businesses.

Center President Marcia White says they hope the videos will make the classical art form "approachable" to a generation drawn to entertainment through newer technology.

They are meant to draw viewers to SPACs web site, where other videos can be found.
