Fire breaks out at Green Island scrap metal yard
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Firew crews from Green Island, Watervliet and Cohoes were at a scrap metal recycling facility in Green Island Tuesday morning to battle an apparent scrap metal fire.
The fire broke out at R.K. Freedman & Son, Inc., located at 25 Tibbits Ave., a scrap metal recycling facility that has been in business for over 100 years.
A piece of hot metal apparently sparked a mulch pile, which caused the fire.
