Van Corlaer Elementary School in Schenectady evacuated due to boiler problem
SCHENECTADY -- Van Corlaer Elementary School was evacuated early this afternoon when a boiler problem set off the fire alarm, school officials said.
Students and staff were dismissed for the rest of the day because of safety concerns.
Teachers and staff walked students to Blodgett Elementary School at 520 Bradt St., where they stay will stay until dismissal time at 3:30 p.m. Students who are bused will be picked up by their regular buses at Blodgett at dismissal time and transported home as usual.
Parents who pick up their children should pick them up at Blodgett at regular dismissal time, said officials.
