Six arrested in Schenectady County welfare fraud sweep
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A welfare fraud sweep in Schenectady County has resulted in six arrests, the Schenectady Police Department and Schenectady County Department of Social Service announced today.
The following county residents were arrested, mainly for failing to report their spouses' incomes, work hours and property ownership, which allowed them to receive benefits and services they weren't entitled to:
- 41-year-old Esther Cubero of 815 Strong St.
- 41-year-old Rebecca Lawyer of 869 Emmett St.
- 43-year-old Deokumari Haripersaud of 124 McClellan St.
- 32-year-old Angie Raunzahn of 127 Elm St.
- 32-year-old Michelle McGee of 2330 Campbell Ave.
- 33-year-old Parbatie Jagbir of 2321 Harrison St.
The six face various charges, including welfare fraud, offering a false instrument, and grand larceny.
