SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -- State officials say Interstate 81 will reopen through Syracuse this weekend, "barring any unforeseen circumstances."
A one-mile stretch of the northbound side of the highway has been closed for three weeks because a crumbling building threatened cars. Crews began demolishing the 120-year-old former brewery Wednesday afternoon.
About 50,000 motorists who use that portion of I-81 each day have had to take detours.
