Man arrested on arson charge for overnight fire in Menands
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Police say an early morning fire in Menands was arson -- and they've arrested the man they say committed the crime.
Jay Harkins, 29, of Watervliet has been charged with arson and criminal mischief for the early-morning fire that destroyed a garage and two cars.
Menands Police responded to a fire alarm at a home on Glenwood Rd. at 3:19 this morning. After investigating, they determined the fire was intentionally set.
The Albany County D.A.'s Office, Colonie Fire Services, and the State Office of Fire Prevention and Control assisted in the investigation. Harkins is in the Albany County Jail in lieu of $50,000.00 Bail.
