Saratoga County attorney admits to stealing $2.3 million from clients
SARATOGA COUNTY -- A Saratoga Springs attorney has agreed to pay $2.3 million to 19 former clients from whom he has admitted to stealing, according to the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office.
Patrick Reidy, of Gansevoort, entered a guilty plea Friday to a Grand Larceny charge.
In addition to the restitution he’ll be ordered to pay, he also faces between five and 15 years in a state correctional facility.
Investigators said Reidy was stealing money from real estate closings and diverting it for his own purposes rather than paying off mortgages and other loans.
Sentencing has been scheduled for Oct. 22.
