Albany Ready to Roll on Next Big Movie Shoot?

You might remember it was earlier this month (October '09) when crews wrapped up filming for 'The Other Guys' in Albany.

The movie, starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, used parts of downtown for an action scene including a car chase and crash sequence.

Before they left town, rumors were already swirling about what big movie was coming next to the capital city.

CBS 6's Jerry Gretzinger has learned that reps from the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau have been meeting with folks from Columbia Pictures about hosting another movie shoot in January.

They say it is a major motion picture but won't tell us which one.

Jerry did find out what it's not.

'Sex and the City 2' is not coming to Albany.

Neither is 'Spiderman 4'.

Not yet at least.  Filming for America's favorite web slinger doesn't begin till the fall of 2010.
