Aafia Siddiqui was indicted Tuesday on charges she tried to assault and kill Army officers and FBI agents during an interrogation in July. Prosecutors in federal court in Manhattan allege she grabbed a soldier's rifle and fired it but missed. She was wounded by return fire.
The 36-year-old Siddiqui is described by authorities as an al-Qaida supporter. The indictment claims she had notes describing radiological, chemical and biological weapons.
Siddiqui, a former Boston-area resident, has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and attempted murder.
