Theft of boat, ATV alleged in Warren County.
Man and girlfriend charged
A 24-year-old Glens Falls man is accused of steering a stolen boat to the shore of Lake George in Bolton Landing and stealing an ATV from someone's property. During the investigation, investigators charged the man's girlfriend with drug posssession.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, at 4:37 a.m. Friday that office received a call from a home on Lakeshore Drive - someone reported a man who approached their property by boat took their ATV.
Officers found the ATV moving southbound on Lakeshore Drive in the Town of Lake George. When they tried to stop it, the driver left it in a driveway and ran away. After a short foot chase the man was taken into custody.
Authorities charged Joshua J. Straight with stealing the boat and the ATV. The sheriff's office says the boat had been stolen from a dock about a mile north of where it was left. Straight is charged with grand larceny.
According to the sheriff's office, "During the investigation of the Grand Larceny, officers stopped a vehicle driven by the 21 year old girlfriend of Straight, Nicole T. Costin, also of Baldwin Avenue Glens Falls. It was determined that although she had no involvement in the larcenies, she was found to be in possession of several packets of heroin, pills, and marihuana."
