Hit musical 'Wicked' coming to Proctors
Comments 0 | Recommend 0SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- The hit musical "Wicked" will be coming to Schenectady for a month-long run at Proctors Theatre beginning December 9th.
Tickets for the Grammy- and Tony-Award winning musical go on sale at 7 a.m. next Friday, September 25th at the Proctors box office at 432 State St.
Tickets will then go on sale via phone (518-346-6204) and website (www.proctors.org) beginning at 10 a.m. Prices start at $30.
"Wicked," based on Capital Region native Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel of the same name, has been called "one of the most successful shows in Broadway history" by the New York Times, according to a press release from Proctors.
There are currently eight productions of "Wicked" worldwide, including two North American tours, a Broadway production, San Francisco production, London production, a Japanese-language production, a German-language production and Australian production. A Dutch-language production will open in 2011.
The first scheduled performance at Proctors is Wednesday, December 9th at 8 p.m., and the last is Sunday, January 3rd at 7:30 p.m.
