A Hudson man has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison in a murder conviction for the 1994 death of his pregnant wife.
Warren Powell was sentenced this morning in Columbia County Court, where he was convicted back in April for the 1994 death of Mary Anne Powell in which she was strangled and dumped into the Hudson River.
Powell was first convicted of the murder in 1997 but had the conviction overturned because of an error in jury selection.
He was re-tried earlier this year and found guilty in the jury trial.
Powell's sentence on the murder charge will be served concurrently with the 15 to 30 years he's currently serving for an unrelated drug crime.
