Troy city pools now open; swim classes and water carnival on program
Pools in Troy are now open for business.
The South End Pool and the Knickerbacker Pool in Lansingburgh are open for public swimming from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day.
The cost is $1 for children under 18, and $2 for adults. Season passes for children may be purchased for $10.
Both pools are also offering four-week American Red Cross swimming courses free to all children in Troy older than five.
Classes at the Knickerbacker will be held Monday through Friday mornings from July 7th though July 18th.
Classes at the South End pool will be held Monday through Friday mornings from July 21st through August 1st.
Registration is open for the Learn to Swim program up until the Friday before classes begin.
The two pools will also hold water carnivals this year: July 18th at the South End Pool, and August 1st at Knickerbacker.
The pools are also offering evening programming beginning July 7th, including Adult Swim for Fitness, Lap Swim, Evening Youth Learn to Swim, Parent-Tot Nights, Competitive Swim Team Practice and Family Swim nights, to be held weekdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Knickerbacker Pool is located at 104th St. and 7th Ave. The South End Pool is located off of Tyler and Fourth Streets.
