Police: Intoxicated man steals van, runs from East Greenbush officers
Comments 0 | Recommend 0EAST GREENBUSH -- A 42-year-old Ohio man was arrested Monday morning following a chase, according to the East Greenbush Police Department.
A Phillips Road man called the department at about 4:30 a.m. to say an overnight guest had stolen his mini van, police said.
Officers said they tried to pull it over when the driver ditched the van and tried to take off on foot. They eventually caught up to the driver in a vacant lot on Sussex Street.
Police arrested Stacy Ray Verhelle, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH. He’s been charged with a host of related offenses including open container in a vehicle and driving while intoxicated.
Investigators say additional charges could be coming.
