Warren County man arrested after leading police on high-speed chase
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A Warren County man has been arrested for leading police on a high-speed chase in which he struck a sheriff's car and nearly struck a State Police car.
It started at around 9:30 this morning, when a Warren County Sheriff's officer tried to stop a car on Warrensburg Rd. being driven by 25-year-old Adam Colson of Stony Creek after he drove past the officer without wearing a seatbelt.
Colson refused to stop and continued to speed back into the village of Stony Creek; he proceeded on to Hadley Rd., where he continued south into the town of Hadley in Saratoga County and crossed into the village of Corinth on Route 9N. That's where police stopped pursuing Colson out of safety concerns.
Until that point, Colson struck a Warren County Sheriff's car and nearly struck a State Police car during the chase.
Colson's car was later located in the area of Park St. in Corinth by the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office. Colson was spotted walking on Main St. in Corinth and was arrested without incident.
Colson was issued tickets for no seatbelt, reckless pperation of a motor vehicle, speeding over 55, aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, as well as numerous other tickets relating to the chase.
Colson was also charged with the Penal Law misdemeanor of unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle 3rd.
Colson was processed at the Warren County Sheriffs Office and turned over to the New York State Police where he faces numerous other charges relating to the incident.
