Police say the student was struck by a mini-van in front of the school on Oneida St. at around 7:49 a.m. when he tripped while retrieving his hat from the road. He struck his head on the side of a passing green mini-van, injuring his head, according to police.

The student was taken to Albany Medical Center by ambulance; police say he was conscious.

The driver of the mini-van has not been ticketed in the accident, but police are continuing to investigate.
