Pittsfield Police seize $35K in drugs after bust
Three daytime raids in Pittsfield have taken tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs off the street.
Pittsfield Police, the FBI, ATF and DEA agents carried out the raids all at the same time yesterday. Agents say they not only took in about $35,000 worth of drugs -- they also arrested the leader of the Bloods gang.
And their banking on the bust to help put an end to a recent problem that's been plaguing the city.
"By following up in this investigation, it is our hope and expectation that we will come to a solution in some, if not all, of the violence that has plagued Pittsfield over the last several months," said police chief
The raids were a result of an ongoing investigation by the Berkshire County Drug Task Force and the Pittsfield Police Department drug unit.
