Police Investigate a Stabbing in Niskayuna
Niskayuna Police are investigating a stabbing after a call from a woman saying a person was trying to break into her home at 1463 Baker Avenue just after midnight Tuesday morning. When officers arrived they found a female victim lying injured on the sidewalk in the front of the house. The victim told police the alleged suspect is Adam Lewis, 48, of Saratoga Springs.
About a half an hour later Lewis was located near the home and taken into custody. The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment to her stab wounds to her back and abdomen.
Lewis will faces charges of aggravated criminal contempt, burglary, assault, and criminal mischief. He also faces attempted murder charges and is now in custody of the Schenectady County Sheriff without bail. He will appear in Niskayuna Town Court Wednesday evening at 6.
