How to get home after New Year's celebrations
Comments 0 | Recommend 0If you're planning to celebrate New Year's out on the town, be sure to plan for a safe ride home. Here are some options:
Capital Region
Free cab rides from law firm Martin, Harding & Mazzotti. Call 1-800-LAW-1010 from 10 p.m. on Dec. 31 through 2 a.m. on Jan. 1, and the firm will get you a taxi ride home, no questions asked.
Free bus services from the Capital District Transportation Authority, from 8 p.m. on Dec. 31 through 1 a.m. on Jan. 1.
Albany County
The STOP-DWI program is coordinating a Safe Ride program for county residents between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. To get a free, safe ride, call 720-8100.
Rensselaer County
The county will be operating its annual Safe Ride program in partnership with the Netters Fund. Free transportation will be provided to partygoers within Rensselaer County from bars and restaurants to their homes only, on a first-call first-serve basis. Three county vehicles will be driven and dispatched by volunteers from various county agencies and the Community Emergency Response Team and Sheriff's Deputies. Those who need a ride should call 518-271-2097 or 518-271-5105.
Schenectady County
The STOP-DWI program is coordinating a Safe Ride program for county residents between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. To get a free, safe ride, call 374-4101. This is the 25th anniversary of the program.
